Yes a course for beginners, if ur looking for a place with a friendly atmosphere and a CLUB HOUSE please go else where because at Hurst there isnt any of this the local council have run down this course as much as possible and has also drove out the members, i suggest instead of this course go to your local field and wack a ball round there???
yours unbelieveably Chris Sturt

Hurst Golf Course is absolutely for beginners. You can see the hackers on all sides and everbody playing down and across multiple fairways simultaneously. The course is not particularly well looked after and in the times I have played never seen anybody maintaining the course. In addition to this temporary holes are in use for 6 months around winter making Billingbear golf course a much better option.

thanks for an unbelievable golf experience, the beer is really cheap and the staff are fantastic (especially mark hamilton and martin arnold).
Thanks again

I wouldn't particularly recommend this course. It may sound a bit unfair as I only played this for the first time recently, but even as a relative beginner I found it rather uninteresting to play. Of the 9 holes there is only one par 3, all the others being 350+ yards. The greens are quite nice and well looked after and the clubhouse do a decent bacon 'sarnie' (!) but the fairways and other clubhouse facilities are very average.

All in all I enjoyed the course. Not the most challenging of courses, but that is fine by me. There is plenty of space for those miss-guided tee-shots, and the course is generally well looked after. I would definitely recommend this course to beginners, and for those of you who ever happen to be in the area with a spare few hours between business meetings.
