Just came across Bobby Hanleys message.I remember well playingwith Bobby and the lads in Kenmare in the very early 50s. The fairways were cut by a mower attached to an old Ford Prefect with no doors and was driven by a gentleman who could not speak or hear.He taught me to drive in Prefect up and down the fairways.Remember the day Bobby won the big prize !!.I played with a cut down 3 iron and an old putter.
Delighted that Kenmare Golf Club is doing so well and hope that Bobby Hanly is in good form.

I have played at kenmare golf course since a child, and I now love visiting as an adult.
the original 9 was always a challenge, but with the new course developed, all of your golfing techniques will be tested.
Situated in the glorious surroundings of this historic small town - a day playing golf at Kenmare is an absolute delight.

After the renovation and extenuation to 18 holes the course has matured nicely, the upper part runs behind the town and the lower part is situated along the Kenmare river while the first tee and the Clubhouse are almost in the town. A good golf course that should not be missed when visiting Kenmare on the Ring of Kerry.
