Course Details

Course Name: Larne Holes: 9 Yardage: 6288 SSS: 70
Larne is a nine hole course, part parkland and part links along the edge of Belfast Lough with wonderful views reaching as far as Scotland. The last three holes bordered by thick whins on one side and the sea on the other are most interesting, with a 417 yard dog leg left a particularly awesome prospect.

This is a great course with a spectacular view, as most courses on the coast in NI have. What makes this so special the well maintained greens. The greenskeeper does an absolutely fantastic job. I am from America & can't wait to come over and play this course again.

Larne is an friendly club with a well kept and tricky course with the wind as it's main defence. The first five holes provide a good warm up to the more severe tests at the remaining four holes. The par-3 seventh is particularly notable as it requires a blind pitch down from the headland onto a green which is bounded on three sides by rocks and the sea.
The remaining two holes have almost no room for errant shots as the left of the fairway is made up of a large bank of dense gorse bushes and the right hand side is washed by the sea. Some members have apparently been known to consult the tide times to ensure favourable wind conditions!
    Well worth a visit.
