QUEEN OF THE LOTHIANS! (SEE REVIEW 06/99) - Update 1/5/02
I described this Golf Course as being 'Intricate'. Liberton has now planted 2,500 Trees and Shrubs; the 11th and 13th holes are extended by 10 yards. The Tees are now elevated to make two excellent Medal Holes. Bunkers have been resized, reshaped and the 12th fairway bunker has been repositioned to catch a long drive, making this hole more of a Dogleg.
Fairways are now cut and shaped relative to the ruff to make them tighter.
Thesaurus indicates that the word 'Intricate' is synonymous with the words: complicated, complex, involved, obscure, difficult, eleborate and convoluted. I now understand why my handicap has gone up three strokes.
In future years when the new plantation matures, Liberton will indeed be an Intricate Garden.

    Queen of the Lothians!
Liberton is indeed a little Jewel, small but very intricate.
Situated on the south side of Edinburgh near Little France, where it is reputed Mary Queen of Scots played Golf, while in residence at Craigmillar Castle.
If this course was prettied it would be the Garden it once was.
