A weekend of golf at Royal Aberdeen, Cruden Bay and Gleneagles finished off with a round at Loch Lomond as a guest of the SGU. A stunning golf course in fantastic condition which must be one of the top course anywhere in the world. We had a perfect summers day to play around, you could easily loose yourself as the course is hidden away in the wonderful countryside of Loch Lomond and is not heavily used due to the restrictions on visitors. A must play course if you ever get the opportunity.

I too have been lucky enough to play what is now classified by Golf World as the best inland course in Britain. Almost impossible to get on unless you know a member, never, ever pass up the chance to play if the opportunity somehow comes your way.
Nevertheless, sad that the golfing public are denied access.

Having worked at Loch Lomond for 9 months during the summer of 1998 and having played the course a number of times I can honestly say that it is the most spectacular golf course I have ever played.
The course is of the highest standard and because of the notorious Scottish weather never plays the same twice, I have hit a 2-iron to the par 3 5th on one day and an 8 iron the next. As I play with a handicap of 10 I like to think I can play well on most course but Loch Lomond can make even the best players shoot three figure scores. The course is very tight with long rough and narrow fairways although you never feel hard done by as good shots are rewarded.
The greens are the best I have seen and played on and can be as quick as putting on glass.
If you ever have the chance to play this fabulous course grab it with both hands as you will remember the eighteen holes at Loch Lomond for the rest of your life.
