My son & I played this course in July 2011. The trip was a father's day gift. We played 5 rounds at different places. Portmarnock Golf Club was the highlight. Absolutely fantastic in every way, from the way we were received to the course itself. Has to be the toughest course either one of us had ever played but completely enjoyable. What every golfing visitor to Ireland envisions when planning a trip. What an experience that I'll never forget.....

My son and I were privileged to play Portmarnock golf club. It was special from the moment we arrived. We had an 8:30AM tee time but as soon as we announced ourselves to the proshop, they acted as if we were visiting dignitaries My son and I have indexes of 17 and we hired a caddy. The Caddymaster was exceptionally nice and before we knew it we were on the tee at 7:50AM. We were the first off that morning. We were hit by wind, rain, sunshine then wind and rain again it was marvellous!!
An old links course by the sea with harsh weather, just what we pictured. I don't think we could have found our way around the course with out a caddy (It is not well marked)
Over all it was a great experience. We played on October 22,1999
