The Rolls of Monmouthshire course is positioned within The Rolls Estate. This was the former home of Charles Stewart Rolls, the early aviator and motoring enthusiast, whose flying and ballooning exploits thrilled the nation and who with Henry Royce, founded the famous Rolls Royce Company.

The Rolls Golf Course is a parkland course, designed in two halves, separated by a large wooden hill. This separation added to the 600 acres of perimeter woodland surrounding the estate, provides peace and tranquillity, which is only broken by the abundance of wildlife including deer, and waterfowl.
