I played this course in early 2004 (springtime)I Thought that it was well laid out if very tight for space on some holes.
The rough is not a place to go, even the 1st cut caused all four of us problems. Best to stick with long irons and 3 wood for driving.
On the whole a good tight course with extreme rough course management a must.

I played the course last weekend + found it in very good condition. There are 3 great water holes, the par 3, 8th followed by a dog-leg par 4, 9th. The 11th hole is also challenging over water, if I remember approx 150 yards.
The fairways are generous + the course is ideal for high handicappers, like myself - I'm off 22.
One criticism was the number of golf societies present, which caused my four ball to go round in nearly 4 .5 hours.
I have spoken to others who have played at Sapey and have experienced similar probs, therefore I will not be in a hurry to go back + play at the weekends, however would definitely try a midweek tee-off time, when hopefully there won't be too many hackers present. All said, we had an enjoyable time + the golf pro Chris was very helpful. Would recommend, but avoid weekend play.
