This is one of a number of council run golf courses within the bounds of the city of Edinburgh. The best of their courses is probably Braid Hills No.1, but this is a cheap and cheerful track. Not one I'd go out of the way to play but friendly and a fairly easy play.

this is a terrible course.the clubhouse resembles a prison building and the couse itself may as well be the exercise yard. the greens are disgraceful and would pass for rough on a decent course.there are no rakes in the bunkers and the fairways act as the main thoroughfare serving the neighbouring residential areas

Silverknowes is a lovely golf course at the edge of the firth of fourth. it
is very long and very stunning although the bunkers are like playing on a
    building site

Quite an easy and open course. A few holes are fairly bland, but some are well designed. The course is cheap to play.

Excellent links golf course with magnificent views across Firth of Forth to Fife.
Not a typical links course as although many holes are long and bare there are a number which are bordered by the neighbouring wood adding to the challenge.
