Ive heard mixed reviews for St. Cleres Hall Golf course, and decided to give it a go just the other day. I was pleasently surprised. The course was in superb condition, well layed out, with friendly green staff and an excellent driving range (one of the best in essex in my opinion!). And the round was surprisingly cheap as well! I shall definately be playing here again soon

Great course, what a pity the two guys in the pro shop seemed so miserable and could care less.

St Cleres is a fairly tough sand based course. It is playable all year round as it drains very easily. It has some very challenging par three's as with all the holes the wind is a deciding factor making club selection difficult. The greens and fairways are generally well kept considering the amount of winter traffic the course receives. The food is cheap and the members are very friendly.
