For any low handicap golfers out there, come and play in Strabane Golf Club's Senior Scratch Cup sponsored by Irish Road Motors. It is on Sunday 11th June 2000, and is played off the Blue markers over 36 holes.
You haven't hit a tight tee shot until you have teed off at the ninth hole (Strabane's signature hole).
Out of Bounds with the River Mourne just off the left edge of the fairway, and a lateral water hazard at the bottom of a bank of whin bushes all the way up the right hand side of the fairway. Not too bad until you consider that the fairway is only 25 yards across at its widest!
Enter by calling the club on 028 71382007 or 028 71382271
Alternatively, you can email me at the supplied address or on David.McGrath@waterni.gov.uk
A hearty welcome is ensured, and if you have never played in front of a gallery before, then be prepared for a shock, as the members not playing turn out in force each year to watch their favourites, and cheer on each shot.
This is the seventh staging of this premier event, with last year's champion Graham McDowell (Rathmore), being the only one who has been able to break the deadlock of the two Enda's; Enda Kennedy (Strabane) and Enda McMenamin (Ballybofey & Stranorlar), who have shared this title amongst themselves for the first five years.

Played it back in Feb'98 with Jonnie Dunne. Enjoyed it, especially setting by River Mourne.Tell Johnnie I'll see him in Spain in July.
