I have played at Whalley Golf Club many times and have always been impressed with the course and the hospitality. The course, though relatively short, is still exacting, with hills, and a pond. Some of the fairways are fairly tight and require irons off the tee unless you are very precise. The second is the best hole, with what I believe to be a newly laid green changing the hole from a par four to five. A brook runs across the fairway meaning that any attempts to get on in two are very risky. All this combined with wonderful views and a first class club-house means that i can thoroughly recommend it as a day out. My handicap is 15.
