Called at the course late afternoon in March this year to enquire for a 2x 4 balls with buggies. Staff were asking 105 euro's each. When told that we could have booked it from the hotel on the internet at 95euro's we were told very sarcastically that maybe we should book on the Internet then! Needless to say we walked out. It is one of the few courses that we haven't played out there, all we wanted was a sensible price. We had just played the Fab Alhuiren for 65 euro's with buggy and 3 course lunch, so we re booked it again for the next day. Maybe we will play Torrequebrada next march but not at those prices.

Played this course in early June with a society of 16 members. Had the course to ourselves all day. Took the championship package offered by Clare, golf co-ordinator at the club. Included
Coffee, warm up balls on the range, 18 holes with buggies and a few prizes thrown in. Course was in pristine condition with greens running at 8 on the stimp meter (which was quick enough for our group)and well worth the 75 euro fee. Played this along with Santana GC (which Clare booked for us) and Santa Maria which run Torrequebrada a close second. Well worth it if your in the area.

Our Society played this course on 28 Apr 2011. The reception from staff was outstanding and the course was in magnificent condition however take your 'A' game if the tees are well back like when we played it! Highly recommended.

I played this course last week, 2nd March 2011 and I have to say it was fantastic. I've been going to this area for 10 years now and played most of the courses but never played Torrequebrada due to the price but I managed to get a deal (€55 including a buggy) the course was in great condition and I had a great day. The other great thing about this course was that it wasn’t crowded, I didn’t see more than 6 other parties on the course my whole round. It was great to play without being under pressure from following groups. Note – worth booking via an agent over there as they get some good deals for you which you may not get for yourselves.

Just back from holiday in Spain and played this course last week. One word to describe it, stunning!. It only cost €60 which included club hire (buggy hire was extra) and was as lush as any course in the UK, in spite of the high 80 degrees heat. All lakes were full, fairways watered and the golf buggies with sat nav and leader board facility were great. Booked the day before we played and ended up with only 4 other people on the course, truly Millionaires Golf.

I agree with Steve O'Brien. Played this course in 2008 and for the money charged(I think it was 91 euro) was very poor. No water in lakes, shabby greens and generally pretty poor condition for a course of its reputation.

played this course on 19/09/2009 at a charge of 105 euros per round excluding buggies which were 40 euros.we were told by clare who works at the course,2 weeks before we played, that the course was in lovely condition - the reality was in fact somewhat different. to say we were disappointed with it would be an understatement.fairways and greens were in my opinion in poor condition, especially the 18th green so much so that i would never play this course again- can't hold alight to la cala which we also played for 57 euros including buggy.it seems torrequebrada is living on past reputations with little regard given to 'joe public'- this attitude will certainly come back to bite them and we could see evidence of this the week we were there- our hotel balcony overlooked the 7th green, didn't see too much activity all week. my advice - leave well alone!

Having played Torrequebrada and La Cala
within a year of both opening, La Cala
does not come anywhere near the quality
of Torrequebrada which is a magical
golfing experience!!

I am so sorry you did not have a good experience when you came to the course recently, I can honestly say that you are of a minority of people who have played the course and have felt like this.
I do hope that this one occasion does not deter you from coming back again as we are always trying very hard to please all golfers who come here and play.

Played 18 holes last week.
An excellent course.
Drainage works in 2007 render earlier critical comments out of date.
Geens, fairways and bunkers were all excellent. Greenskeepers were a regular sight on the course.
Worth hiring a buggy for the hills. (They also have GPS).
A stunning course, challenging experience and well worth going back.

message carried on from original below:
and had a while on the putting green then a man came up and went through some things with us like using the gps on the buggies etc..
There have been some bad reviews about this course but most of them seem to be 3 of 4 years ago, but i can state now that it is in fantastic condition, you may think its expensive in my opinion that extra 10/15 euros is well worth the money. It is very hilly so bugies are a must and has some marvellous views over the med. A lot of the holes are doglegs so its more about position rather than distance although there are still plenty of holes where you can get the driver out and rip it. It gives you the opportunity to use all of the shots in your repertoire. Having played Alhuarin the day before which the front nine is like crazy golf we all agreed that although tough we found this course to be fair. If you strayed off the fairway and into the trees you could still find you ball so it was possible to recover.
Once at the green the fun began, they were very quick and in tip top condition so if you hit a good putt it went in, but the hardest thing was reading the putts almost every green had quite a bit of movement in them and it was very easy to miss the 2/3 footers.
Back at the clubhouse we all sat down and had a beer on the veranda overlooking the 18th green and all wished we could play it again so we could play differently on some of the holes.
Every year we book different courses to try them all out but occasionally we find one that simply has to be played over and over again. Monte Major was one them simply beacuse of the wow factor although it can wear you down, now we have another one....
Well done to everyone at Torrequbrada...see you next year..

Just returned from a weekend playing golf in Spain and can quite easily say that Torrequbrada is the best course i have played on.
We played Parador and Alhaurin on this trip but i have also played Monte Mayor, Cabopino, Santa Maria, Calanova, Santana and Baviara and it beats them all.
We arrived early and were met by a friendly chap who sorted the buggies out, we then drove our buggies across the road to the nearby driving range, couldnt have been easier.
We came back in and checked out the changing rooms which has a stunning view out of a full length window looking out over the course.
We arrived at the first tee a

We have just returned from a week in the Costa playing 5 rounds of golf. Each day the standard of course got better and better until the last day which is when we played Torreqebrada. None of the other courses came close. Easily the best fairways, greens and bunkers of the week and its a bit harsh to criticise the very odd patches of tatty rough as they are trying to improve the irrigation to make it even better but these were very few and far between. Anyone who plays this course regardless of standard im sure will fall in love with it, and whilst it is tough you have to remember it is a championship course so it is long but dont let this put you off! and if you cant see the green on the 10th......walk up or drive to the corner and have a look....Best clubhouse of the lot with a great balcony cheap beer and friendly staff. Fantastic course cant wait to go back next year and I for one hope soon it will soon hold a Tour event once again!

Thank you Dave for your great comments about our golf course, we have put a lot of time, money and effort into improving the course and hence the comments here have made it all worth it.
Great things have happened at the course, extra services, club cleaning, caddy service, new changing rooms etc so it really is time for the golfers who have not played for a long time to come back and see the difference for theirselves.
I work here at the course and love it, especially taking care of the golfers before, during and after their games.
Hope to see you all soon at the club

I was planning an annual golf trip for a group of 8 golfers who annually travel to the Costa Del Sol in March but when I read the most recent reviews I was put off so we went elsewhere. I have just been out again for our summer hols and took my son to play here just to see which reviews were right. My advice to anyone going to the area is to play this fantastic course. It is a gem. I have played most courses in the area and this is a class act. The club house, friendly staff and most importantly the quality and maturity of the design shines through. Without doubt the best fairways and greens and apart from a few bad areas of rough, a couple poor tees and some old cart paths (which they are slowly rebuilding) it was faultless. Yes, it isn’t the cheapest but for my money it was worth every penny and I will return there every year. If you are fit I recommend walking it. We did in mid July and it was hot but definitely more fun than going in a buggy.

Have to agree with Steve's last comments, although in fairness, greens were fine. That apart, my party were very disappointed in the course. The course has been poorly maintained, with holes lacking definition, fairways of poor quality and in places full of weeds / dried drainage tracks whilst the buggy paths have been left to go to ruin. Some of the holes were poor too (hole 10 saw three drives in the middle of the fairway, but none of us had the slightest idea where the
green was!) Had looked forward given some internet reviews of the place, but was definitely behind Mijas, La Cala and the excellent Santana ; the others we played on our trip.

Just returned from the Costa del Sol and a round at Torrequebrada and can only say that the fairways and greens in particular were absolutely appalling, I suggest the greenkeeper lowers the mower blades by 4cm and not 4mm and reduces the amount of sand on them to the level of that on Torremolinos beach as this would be an improvement. I thoroughly recommend La Cala where for 90 euros you can have 2 quality rounds for the price of 1 at this dirttrack.

Played 08/10/05 and am in total agreement with Tom on this. It took us 3h30 to play the first 10 holes, with the two groups in front of us having left the course on 9, and there was a queue to play the 11th!
Spoke to the golf pro about it, who said the following three nonsenses - of which the third is the best:
1. It gets a lot faster on the back 9.
2. You could play the front again if you want (cause we all like to pay 90 Euros to play the same 9 holes twice!)
3. Not all players play to the handicap they claim (to which our response - "check hcap certificates then, as you didn't check ours, and defintely not the hackers in front")
This is a course that is reliant on its old reputation and is only after your money, fairways were bad, greens were truly awful, and people complaining (we were not only ones) were told "tough".
Most expensive of the games we played and only one not enjoyed/finished.
Try La Cala instead (brand new Europa is brilliant), and Monte Mayor esp.

Just played this place last week and all I can say is that you must have played a different course to me. This must be the jewel in the Costa, "what a course" and for about the right price. Ok it took us 4.30 for a 2 ball in carts but where else would you sooner be????

Read reviews before i played the course and was very dissapointed. 3 and a half hours to play first nine and had to play first nine again ti get 18 holes. It seems they only want to take your money and then forget about you. As for the course itself.I have played 18 courses on the costa over the last few years and this is the one that I will never play again. When i see a par 3 of 73 metres it is normally on an pitch and putt course

Prices change during the summer months. On the other hand, you are right on the juniors issue and might be something to change in the future

My brother is in Spain at present with five other members of the Wrekin Golf Club, Telford. Shropshire.
Whilst playing the Torrequebrada course on Sunday 19.10.03, five of them had their wallets taken from their golf bags which were on buggies. Other valuables were also taken including a mobile phone and wrist watches.
Value approx. 1500 euroes.
It was there first full day in Spain and what made it worse was that a member of staff took them to a likely location on the course where they thought it could have happened.
It sounds like it had happened previously; so why weren`t they warned.
PERHAPS THEIR SHOULD BE A LARGE NOTICE IN THE PROS SHOP AND NEAR THE FIRST TEE.
