Fantastic

We have just returned from a week in the Costa playing 5 rounds of golf. Each day the standard of course got better and better until the last day which is when we played Torreqebrada. None of the other courses came close. Easily the best fairways, greens and bunkers of the week and its a bit harsh to criticise the very odd patches of tatty rough as they are trying to improve the irrigation to make it even better but these were very few and far between. Anyone who plays this course regardless of standard im sure will fall in love with it, and whilst it is tough you have to remember it is a championship course so it is long but dont let this put you off! and if you cant see the green on the 10th......walk up or drive to the corner and have a look....Best clubhouse of the lot with a great balcony cheap beer and friendly staff. Fantastic course cant wait to go back next year and I for one hope soon it will soon hold a Tour event once again!

Thank you Dave for your great comments about our golf course, we have put a lot of time, money and effort into improving the course and hence the comments here have made it all worth it.
Great things have happened at the course, extra services, club cleaning, caddy service, new changing rooms etc so it really is time for the golfers who have not played for a long time to come back and see the difference for theirselves.
I work here at the course and love it, especially taking care of the golfers before, during and after their games.
Hope to see you all soon at the club

THE BEST COURSE - SUPERB

I was planning an annual golf trip for a group of 8 golfers who annually travel to the Costa Del Sol in March but when I read the most recent reviews I was put off so we went elsewhere. I have just been out again for our summer hols and took my son to play here just to see which reviews were right. My advice to anyone going to the area is to play this fantastic course. It is a gem. I have played most courses in the area and this is a class act. The club house, friendly staff and most importantly the quality and maturity of the design shines through. Without doubt the best fairways and greens and apart from a few bad areas of rough, a couple poor tees and some old cart paths (which they are slowly rebuilding) it was faultless. Yes, it isn’t the cheapest but for my money it was worth every penny and I will return there every year. If you are fit I recommend walking it. We did in mid July and it was hot but definitely more fun than going in a buggy.

NOT GOOD

Have to agree with Steve's last comments, although in fairness, greens were fine. That apart, my party were very disappointed in the course. The course has been poorly maintained, with holes lacking definition, fairways of poor quality and in places full of weeds / dried drainage tracks whilst the buggy paths have been left to go to ruin. Some of the holes were poor too (hole 10 saw three drives in the middle of the fairway, but none of us had the slightest idea where the
green was!) Had looked forward given some internet reviews of the place, but was definitely behind Mijas, La Cala and the excellent Santana ; the others we played on our trip.

SHOCKING!!!!!

Just returned from the Costa del Sol and a round at Torrequebrada and can only say that the fairways and greens in particular were absolutely appalling, I suggest the greenkeeper lowers the mower blades by 4cm and not 4mm and reduces the amount of sand on them to the level of that on Torremolinos beach as this would be an improvement. I thoroughly recommend La Cala where for 90 euros you can have 2 quality rounds for the price of 1 at this dirttrack.

Played 08/10/05 and am in total agreement with Tom on this. It took us 3h30 to play the first 10 holes, with the two groups in front of us having left the course on 9, and there was a queue to play the 11th!
Spoke to the golf pro about it, who said the following three nonsenses - of which the third is the best:
1. It gets a lot faster on the back 9.
2. You could play the front again if you want (cause we all like to pay 90 Euros to play the same 9 holes twice!)
3. Not all players play to the handicap they claim (to which our response - "check hcap certificates then, as you didn't check ours, and defintely not the hackers in front")
This is a course that is reliant on its old reputation and is only after your money, fairways were bad, greens were truly awful, and people complaining (we were not only ones) were told "tough".
Most expensive of the games we played and only one not enjoyed/finished.
Try La Cala instead (brand new Europa is brilliant), and Monte Mayor esp.

Just played this place last week and all I can say is that you must have played a different course to me. This must be the jewel in the Costa, "what a course" and for about the right price. Ok it took us 4.30 for a 2 ball in carts but where else would you sooner be????

Can't agree with anything said in the last post, took us about 4 1/2 hours which was the quickest of three we played and was in fantastic nick.Really enjoyed the whole course, every hole.We played this year 25/3/06 so it may get busier in summer but definitly a great course.

Played the course on 23/03/05 it was a very big disappointment. The fairways were in terrible condition, for the same money Alhuran and Los Flamingos are far better prepared courses

Read reviews before i played the course and was very dissapointed. 3 and a half hours to play first nine and had to play first nine again ti get 18 holes. It seems they only want to take your money and then forget about you. As for the course itself.I have played 18 courses on the costa over the last few years and this is the one that I will never play again. When i see a par 3 of 73 metres it is normally on an pitch and putt course

Prices change during the summer months. On the other hand, you are right on the juniors issue and might be something to change in the future

My brother is in Spain at present with five other members of the Wrekin Golf Club, Telford. Shropshire.
Whilst playing the Torrequebrada course on Sunday 19.10.03, five of them had their wallets taken from their golf bags which were on buggies. Other valuables were also taken including a mobile phone and wrist watches.
Value approx. 1500 euroes.
It was there first full day in Spain and what made it worse was that a member of staff took them to a likely location on the course where they thought it could have happened.
It sounds like it had happened previously; so why weren`t they warned.
PERHAPS THEIR SHOULD BE A LARGE NOTICE IN THE PROS SHOP AND NEAR THE FIRST TEE.
