The O'Connor course in The Algarve
Algarve - PORTUGAL
Tel.: 00 351 289 310 333

The O'Connor course features lush landscaping and orange groves in a low-lying valley where large areas of lakes and watercourses demand accurate play, the remnants of Moorish buildings to be situated on islands, reflecting the history of the area.

Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course, whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil in contrast to the arid hillside, Christy O'Connor Jnr.'s course at Amendoeira offers no less of a challenge.Large areas of water demand accurate play and creative shot making, and these lakes and streams are to be maintained as a wildlife sanctuary.

I Played an enjoyable round here in July 2010,I paid 70 Euros including a buggy.I Liked the use of marker posts on the fairways, and the course was in great condition. I would recommend a round here but agree anything over 100 euros isn't great value.

I like to look back at a first round at any course and pick out the best holes. Unfortunately I couldn't do this at the Amendoeira O'Connor as it is featureless and unremarkable. The samey feel to the holes left me struggling to remember anything specific about the course. Christy O'Connor has been given very little to work with here. The flat land on which the course is built is quite uninspiring. At £120 discount price (the full price is considerably more)this is very poor value for money.
