New Course at St. Andrews - Scotland
The New Course at St. Andrews was built in 1895 by local resident Old Tom Morris due to increasing the townfolk's increasing demand for golf. Though overshadowed by the Old Course, the New is still an incredible play and one of the finest links golf courses in Scotland.
There are fewer bunkers than at Old Course, and greens are smaller here, but just as firm. The par-3 10th playing uphill along the back of the course is a dandy hole, and one of the toughest in town. The New Course operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you can't get on at the Old, this is a worthy substitution in the home of golf.
